October 25, 1888 Paris, France

Dear little book,
My name is Antoinette. Mother gave me this journal for my birthday today. Paris is quiet for the night. So I came outside to write in you today. I am 18 and still not allowed to leave home after dark mother says. Paris is a beautiful town and the Queen and King of Navarre are coming tomorrow to visit. I can't wait to see them up close. Mother is calling me in for the night. I will write tomorrow.

October 26, 1888 Paris, France

Dear little book,
Today I am going to the unfinished Eiffel tower to see the arrival of the King and Queen of Navarre. I am getting dressed to go right now I can't wait any longer. Mother says that we have to dress nicely for us to have tea this afternoon. We are meeting mother's friend's at my favorite cafe. I have to be nice to her daughter the whole time we're there. Mother says it's polite to do such thing. Oh, got to go! Mother's calling for me to go. Write soon when I get back.

Later that day...

I 'm back and happy to be home. Afternoon tea was horrible because mother's friend's daughter spilt tea all over my new dress and did that with the pastries. They got in my clean hair. We had to come home early, so I could change dresses and clean out my hair again today. And it's all that girl's fault for doing it to me. I even missed the arrival of the King and Queen of Navarre too. Everybody will be talking about it when I get back to school, so why me? and why today? why does this had to happen to me. Write later.

later that day..
Tea was wonderful with Mother and the pastries smelled and tasted good as usual. After tea, mother took me shopping around the Eiffel Tower. It's still being built, but will be done this March. I got a beautiful new dress that's emerald green. I want the shoes that match my new dress. Write later.

November 10, 1888 Paris, France

Dear little book,
I can't wait until my mother's wedding. I get to help mother plan and even make most of the decisions for the wedding. I picked red and blue for the wedding colors. Mother loved the colors. They are the colors of France and of the flag. Mother gets to pick the flowers, but she would pick the most ugly flowers she sees in the flower shop. The cake is all mine!  I get to pick the flavor, decorations, and even the style of it. I am going to the bakery right now to get the cake ordered for Mother's wedding in April. She wants everything done before it's close to the wedding day. I can't believe her right now, I am going to have tea with the King of France for the first time in my life at the Palace tomorrow. I never met the King.  I wonder if he has any handsome sons, hopefully, Write later.

I want a pure white dress that is full on the bottom skirts.  For the flowers I want pink Roses and Blue carnations to compain our favorote colors together in the wedding.
